Our 12-month workmanship guarantee
We provide a 12-month guarantee covering defects arising from faulty workmanship in construction and installation work carried out by 4 Dimension Construction.
The guarantee applies to work completed within the agreed project scope. The start date of the 12-month guarantee will be set out in your agreed project documentation.
What the guarantee covers
Our workmanship guarantee covers defects attributable to the way we have carried out or installed the agreed work.
This may include issues arising from incorrect installation, inadequate workmanship or work that does not meet the agreed specification.
Each concern will be considered in relation to the work undertaken, the circumstances of the issue and the applicable project documentation.
What is not covered by the workmanship guarantee
Our workmanship guarantee is distinct from cover for materials, products and circumstances unrelated to our workmanship.
Examples that may fall outside the workmanship guarantee include:
- Manufacturing defects or product failures that are not caused by our installation work.
- Normal wear and tear, routine maintenance or deterioration unrelated to faulty workmanship.
- Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage or subsequent alterations by others.
- Pre-existing defects or work outside the agreed project scope, where these are not attributable to our workmanship.
These distinctions do not remove any responsibility we may have under applicable law. Project-specific limitations should be clearly explained in the agreed documentation.
Materials and manufacturer warranties
Materials and products may be covered by separate warranties provided by their manufacturers or suppliers.
Where customers supply their own materials, their suitability, compatibility and installation requirements should be agreed before work begins.
Customer-supplied materials do not remove our responsibility for the workmanship involved in their installation.
How to report a concern
If you believe there is a problem with our workmanship, please contact us in writing at info@4dmc.co.uk.
To help us identify and review the issue, please provide:
- Your name and property address.
- A description of the concern and when it became apparent.
- Photographs, where helpful.
- Relevant quotation, project or handover information, if available.
We recommend contacting us as soon as reasonably practical after identifying a concern.
Assessment and remedial work
We will review the information provided and may arrange an inspection or request further details to establish the nature and cause of the issue.
Where a defect is attributable to our workmanship and falls within the applicable guarantee, we will discuss the appropriate remedial action.
The circumstances and requirements of each project will be considered individually.
Your statutory rights
Our workmanship guarantee is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not replace or restrict those rights.
Nothing in this guarantee excludes or limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
