Terms & Conditions

Project scope, quotations, payment and working arrangements.

This page summarises our general arrangements for construction and renovation services. Your agreed quotation and applicable contract documents set out the terms for your project. Any statutory cancellation information will be provided before you enter into a contract.

The scope of each project, associated costs, payment arrangements and any project-specific conditions are set out in the individual quotation and agreed contract documentation.

Contents

1. Quotations and project scope

We provide detailed, project-specific quotations based on the information available when the quotation is prepared.

A quotation will outline the proposed work, associated costs and relevant assumptions or exclusions. Depending on the project, technical drawings, specialist reports, detailed specifications or additional approvals may be required separately.

Customers should review their quotation carefully and raise any questions before accepting it.

The agreed scope of work and relevant supporting documents form the basis of the project arrangements.

2. Initial consultations

Our standard initial project consultations are not charged.

During a consultation, we discuss your requirements, assess the proposed work, take relevant measurements and gather information to help prepare a quotation.

Any additional professional services, surveys or specialist assessments should be agreed separately where required.

3. Deposits and payments

A 50% deposit is required before work begins.

The remaining payment arrangements will be specified in the individual quotation and may depend on the nature and scale of the project.

Customers should review the payment arrangements before accepting the quotation.

Any arrangements concerning cancellation, refunds or changes to the agreed work must comply with applicable consumer law.

4. Materials and products

Materials may be supplied by 4 Dimension Construction or by the customer, depending on the agreed project arrangements.

Where customers supply materials, their suitability, compatibility, quantities, delivery arrangements and installation requirements should be agreed before work begins.

Manufacturer and supplier warranties are separate from our workmanship guarantee. Customer-supplied materials do not remove our responsibility for the installation workmanship we carry out.

5. Changes and additional work

If changes to the agreed project scope are requested, we will discuss the proposed changes and explain any associated costs or programme implications.

Additional work should be agreed in writing before it proceeds.

If unforeseen conditions arise during construction, we will explain the issue and discuss the available options before proceeding with additional work, subject to any immediate safety requirements.

6. Design, permissions and approvals

Depending on the project, architectural drawings, structural calculations, planning permission, building regulations approval or other specialist input may be required.

Responsibility for obtaining these documents and approvals should be established in the agreed project documentation.

Design, surveying, approval and specialist services are not automatically included in every quotation.

7. Property access and working arrangements

Customers should ensure that reasonable access to the property is available as agreed for the work to proceed.

Any relevant arrangements concerning working hours, occupied areas, storage, deliveries, utilities and site facilities should be discussed before construction begins.

We will discuss practical arrangements intended to minimise disruption where reasonably possible.

8. Project timescales and delays

Project timescales depend on the scope of work, relevant approvals, material availability, site conditions and other project-specific factors.

We will discuss anticipated timescales before work begins.

Where unforeseen circumstances or agreed changes affect the programme, we will communicate the implications and discuss revised arrangements as appropriate.

9. Completion and handover

Completion arrangements will depend on the agreed scope of work and project documentation.

Any outstanding items, relevant handover information and applicable warranties should be identified and discussed as part of the completion process.

Our 12-month workmanship guarantee applies to qualifying defects in the workmanship we carry out. The commencement arrangements for the guarantee will be confirmed in the applicable project documentation.

10. Cancellation and termination

Cancellation rights and any applicable charges or refunds depend on the circumstances of the contract and relevant consumer legislation.

Customers should be provided with the applicable cancellation information before entering into a contract.

Any arrangements for cancellation, postponement, early commencement of work or termination must be clearly established in the agreed contract documentation.

11. Workmanship guarantee and aftercare

4 Dimension Construction provides a 12-month workmanship guarantee for qualifying defects in its construction and installation workmanship.

Manufacturer and supplier warranties are separate from this guarantee.

If you have a concern about completed work, please contact info@4dmc.co.uk in writing, providing details of the issue and photographs where helpful.

Further information is available in our Workmanship Guarantee and Dispute Resolution documents.

12. Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or restricts statutory consumer rights or any rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

13. Contact and contractual enquiries

If you have questions about a quotation, project scope, payment arrangements or these Terms & Conditions, please contact info@4dmc.co.uk before agreeing to proceed.
